After a week of rather encouraging macroeconomic data, today’s numbers are not particularly strong. Clear weakness in housing starts and building permits, accompanied by import and export prices that are higher than expected.
It should be noted, however, that the final data for the previous month were revised upwards, partially offsetting today’s figures.
