[Gain] Turned $1.3K into $19.7K overnight with GOOG puts (Long Put trade, not short)
I wanted to clarify up front — this was a long put trade, not a short put.
Yesterday (right before close), I entered a directional bearish bet on GOOG:
Bought 20x GOOG $165 Puts expiring May 16 at $0.68 each.
Total debit: $1,360
My thesis was that the post-CPI move would hit big tech hardest, and GOOG was looking heavy technically. Didn't expect such a sharp gap down this morning, but I was ready.
Closed out the position this morning for $19,716.
➤ ROI: ~+1,450%
➤ Profit: $18,356
This was a pure directional bet. Not part of a spread, not selling volatility, no hedge — just a high-conviction short-term play.
Happy to answer any questions about my reasoning, timing, or risk control.
Do you guys still take gains posts here or are we all just gamma farming now? 😅
